Pro Duterte bloggers have constantly been accused of spreading fake news and libellous statements by Liberal party supporters and the main stream media. They even invent stories about the Duterte administration funding an army of online trolls to spread fake news and attack people with libellous accusations. Main stream media has been very aggressive in its attack against pro-Duterte supporters online. They slut shame Mocha Uson and they blow up minor issues with RJ Nieto like him posing in front of De Lima’s Senate office. Pro Duterte supporters have even been accused of diminishing the value of political discourse and for undermining democracy in the Philippines. But who is the biggest threat to democracy? Who is the constant source of fake news and libel? Cocoy Dayao who runs Silent No More.
Just look at one of his most recent post where he accuses Commissioner Pompee La Vina of the SSS for using the SSS for his own personal agenda and gain. He said that La Vina is using SSS fund to invest in businesses of his cronies and for his plans to run for office in the future. He then goes on to site a news article to prove his point. The news article headline reads: “SSS officials face misconduct raps over stock purchases.” Cocoy Dayao seems to have linked this article to prove his accusation that La Vina is using SSS funds to invest in crony companies.
The only problem with this is that when you read the news article it shows that it was actually La Vina who is investigating people in the SSS for using insider knowledge to make a profit. The news article never accused La Vina of being the one behind the stock purchases. So what happened here? It is clear that Cocoy Dayao is not interested in the truth. All he is interested in is spreading fake news and libellous statements to attack the Duterte administration and its allies. This recent post also shows how Cocoy Dayao views his followers – a bunch of blind yellow zombies who are easily fooled into believing anything that supports their bias because they are too lazy to read or research the topic and allegations themselves.
Posts from Cocoy Dayao have consistently been fake and libellous and it has been shown recently that he has so many links with the Liberal party. This connection alone should be enough to cause an uproar from the media but for some reason they remain silent about Cocoy Dayao. (See also: Their Silence on Cocoy Gate is deafening) The constant lies that Cocoy Dayao posts on his page should be enough for people from the Liberal party opposition to publicly come out and call him out but for some reason they are silent about it. Why? Because Cocoy is part of their propaganda program and their attack dog. The media, together with the Liberal party has no credibility until they go after Cocoy Dayao too. Whenever a website publishes something satirical that may seem beneficial to Duterte (See: What is the difference between OKD2 and the Philippine media) the main stream media and the Liberal party are quick to latch on to it posting articles branding it as fake news, discrediting the website and then linking it to Duterte. Why have they not done the same for Cocoy Dayao and even Jover Laurio? Two of the most prolific inventors of fake news in Social media. The answer is simple – they are part of the same group and movement. A movement to discredit Duterte and to destabilize the government.
