Mainstream media has been running full steam trying to discredit the Duterte administration’s war on drugs by riding the political opportunity created by the death of an innocent 17 year old during a drug raid. The heartless Liberal Party political machinery is taking full advantage of this tragedy by politicizing the death of a 17 year old and the media is adding fuel to their propaganda machine. Media outlets like Rappler have run multiple articles in the last 24 hours reviving old news articles about children and teens killed as collateral damage during a drug raid and those killed by vigilantes. The overarching message their propaganda machine is trying to spread is that the Duterte drug war is a killing machine and that Filipinos should feel scared of the police. This is pure fiction and propaganda. If Rappler and other media outlets were to just dig deep into their archives the real story is the complete opposite of what they are telling.
Here is a collection of stories from different media archives that shows the true nature of the Duterte drug war.
So why is the mainstream media and the Liberal party machinery so intent on spreading a different message? The war on drugs has been a success. If you look at the number of addicts and pushers taken off the streets alive and voluntarily, the number of deaths looks insignificant. We should all be looking at the greater good here and not focus only on the fringes. It is sad that the mainstream media and the Liberal party propaganda machines is focused only on the fringes and the one-offs because that is all they can find to support their message. The Filipino people know the truth.
The mainstream media and the Liberal party propaganda machine wants to spread fear, misinformation and confusion. They want the Filipino people to remain blind from the truth so they can control the people, so they can manipulate the people and eventually so they can go back to power. Filipinos see through all of this, just look at all the surveys about their approval of the President and the war on drugs. The media however spins this and insists on saying the Filipinos are ignorant. Shame on you!
