Aljazeera has taken a wrong turn recently by allowing itself to be a platform for the Liberal party’s bullshit. They recently gave Senator Antonio Trillanes a massive megaphone to spread their lies and dumb ass logic. In the article titled “Senator: Rodrigo Duterte’s drug war has killed 20,000” Aljazeera has allowed itself to be a vector for spreading a big fat lie.
First of all, Trillanes is not a trust worthy source for anything. Just look at his track record of making extravagant claims about any of his opponents – from Gloria Arroyo to VP Binay to Duterte family. He has made so many extravagant claims throughout his career and none of it has been proven true. He is so good at being an attack dog for people with power and he is the typical door mat.
In this article he makes a fucked up claim that there has been a total of 20,000 people killed in the Duterte drug war. Where does he get this figure? By lying through his teeth! He willingly misinterprets the Philippine National Police data to fit his narrative without even any attempt to explain why his interpretation is valid. His 20,000 number includes the 16,300 homicides under investigation. Imagine that, to this buffoon of a Senator all the homicides that happened during the Duterte administration is part of the fucking drug war! If we follow his logic then the Liberal party administration of Abnoy Aquino was also a mass murderer killing tens of thousands of people during its term. What infuriates me even more is how nonchalantly Trillanes make the conclusion that all homicide cases under investigation were due to the Duterte drug war. The person who wrote this article from Aljazeera does not even challenge this logic from this twit.
What makes this article despicable is the fact that they allow Trillanes to make an even ridiculous claim. He said that since the government states there are no vigilante killings, the Duterte administration is actually admitting that all these murders were state-sponsored. This is another example of how fucked up this guys brain is. You have to be some kind of mentally damaged for you to accept this logic from anyone. For Aljazeera to swallow this crap in full is disgusting and shows the kind of low mainstream media has sunk to. Nowhere in the article does the author try to challenge Trillanes’ claims.
The other more important detail that was intentionally drowned out by the extravagance of Trillanes’ lies are two very important figures: over 100,000 drug personalities arrested and over 1.3 million surrendered. The article mentions this in one sentence in a very condescending manner without any effort to show how much this benefits the Filipino people. The article instead focused on the lies that seek to damage the legitimacy of a democratically elected government. Aljazeera is allowing itself to be used as a typical cog in a well orchestrated propaganda machine of special interest seeking to take power away from a legitimate government. The Filipino people has expressed through numerous surveys that they feel safer due to the administrations drug war and that majority of them approve of how the drug war is being run in the country. Aljazeera gives more credence to the lies of a single fucked up and failed mutineer over the sentiment of the Filipino people. (See also “The forgotten truth about the Duterte drug war“).
We should all fight this misinformation and propaganda orchestrated by the Liberal party and their attack dogs lead by Trillanes. We should call out media outlets like Aljazeera when they allow themselves to be used by special interest groups in our country seeking to overthrow a legitimate and democratically elected government.
